Words Of Encouragement From The Bible

words of encouragementAt different times in our lives we all need words of encouragement. When we are faced with a serious illness we need encouraged. When we are job hunting we need to be encouraged. And when we all come to that season of life when we are about to pass from this life into the next it is always nice to have someone with us that will encourage us with words of encouragement from the Bible. This is a list of my favorite words of encouragement that I have used in 33 years of being a believer in Jesus. I hope that they give you encouragement, strength, hope, and the will to overcome whatever struggle you may be going through. The definition of the word encourage is to “pour courage into”. It is my prayer that these words of encouragement from the Bible do just that. I pray that they pour courage into your heart and soul.

And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

Christian words of encouragement from men and women of God.

When you face the perils of weariness, carelessness, and confusion, don’t pray for an easier life. Pray instead to be a stronger man or woman of God. - Luis Palua

The valley of the shadow of death holds no darkness for the child of God. There must be light, else there could be no shadow. Jesus is the light. He has overcome death.  - Dwight L Moody

Difficulties and obstacles are God’s challenges to faith. When hindrances confront us in the path of duty, we are to recognize them as vessels for faith to fill with the fullness and all-sufficiency of Jesus. - A. B. Simpson

We want to avoid suffering, death, sin, ashes. But we live in a world crushed and broken and torn, a world God Himself visited to redeem. We receive his poured-out life, and being allowed the high privilege of suffering with Him, may then pour ourselves out for others. - Elisabeth Elliot

The conflict will always beyond your strength. The enemy always pushes us beyond our personal, inbred, preset limits concerning how far we will go for God: “Here’s how far I’m going to love; this is how many times I’ll turn the other cheek.” The test kills the limits of our humanity, until we are like Christ in everything. We are left with a choice: Become Christlike or gradually shrivel into superficial hypocrites: angry people who have stopped walking with God, who blame others for our bitterness. - Francis Frangipane

Often, in the midst of great problems, we stop short of the real blessing God has for us, which is a fresh vision of who He is. - Anne Graham Lotz

Most of the verses written about praise in God’s Word were voiced by people faced with crushing heartaches, injustice, treachery, slander, and scores of other difficult situations. - Joni Eareckson Tada

I hope you have enjoyed these words of encouragement from the Bible and from men and women of God. Do not be down on yourself. We all have times we need words of encouragement to help us get focused on what is really important. Take these words of encouragement, write them down, put them on your mirror or refrigerator and definitely pass them along to your friends and family and those that you come across in need. Plant a seed of encouragement, reap a harvest of having courage poured into your heart and soul as well.

Blessings

  1. Thanks for the words of encouragement. They are time tested truths and a great reminder as our family has gone through some very difficult trials this year and we see no end in sight at the moment.
