Yesterday I had an unexpected appointment with God. When I got up I found that I had received an email asking me to pre-screen a new Christian movie coming out later this year. In all honesty, when I saw the word “documentary” my expectations were low. I am not a big documentary fan. However I thought it would be something new to pre-screen a movie so I went ahead and took a look. Immediately I was gripped with the premise of the documentary. “Lets go on a journey to find out what God is doing around the world”. After the first 5 minutes I knew that this was not just a movie, but it was a personal appointment between God and I. Even now I am not sure of all the ramifications of what I have seen. I am not sure what changes lie ahead in my own life but one thing I am certain of, I will not be viewing this world from the same set of glasses I did previously.
My review of the powerful Christian movie “Father of Lights”
I can’t and won’t go into all the details. I don’t want to spoil the movie for you. I think that is against movie reviewer ethics or something I am sure. 
However let me just highlight the things that struck me so powerfully. You will see…..
- Gangbangers crying in repentance as they accept Jesus as savior
- Muslims coming to Jesus
- A bona fide Indian Maharishi accepting Jesus as Lord after a dream given to him.
- A witch doctor afraid to come out of his house when Christians came to visit him.
- A set of circumstances put into play by God that allowed the crew of the movie to see something that no Christian has seen for years.
All of this was done without hype, self adulation, or any types of manipulation for financial gain. All the glory was given to God and God alone. This movie has impacted me so deeply that I am going to do something that I have not done in a very long time. I am going to buy the movie when it is released so I can show it to as many people as possible.
Father of Lights is starting out on a pre-release tour.
Just to show you the type of hearts the producers of this movie have, they are taking this movie and engaging in a pre-release tour to 30-40 churches and other venues free of charge. That’s right! Free of charge. It is their heart to spread the light of what God is doing in our nation and to the world. Here is a list of places that they will be showing this movie.

So what is this “Father of Lights” tour all about?
Let me share with you what is written on the Father of Lights Website
WHAT IS THIS TOUR?
The Father of Lights Tour is the most ambitious thing the team at Wanderlust has ever attempted. We will visit 30-40 large venues/churches from July 8-September 29, 2012 to show the film Father of Lights in its entirety followed by an evening of ministry/worship of the Father we have just witnessed on film. A handful of these Tour stops will also include major bands for a kind of “concert and a movie” event. Our goal for this Tour is to create city-wide events, where a number of area churches come together in a sign of love, respect, and unity, and create an outreach event that encompasses the entire region.
WHAT ABOUT MY CITY?
We will be updating the Tour stops/dates as they are finalized, and everything here is subject to change until we have locked the Tour in place. Until this Tour is locked, we will be adding new locations, so if you do not see your region represented, never fear, we are working on it!
WHAT ABOUT THE DVD?
The regular and Deluxe editions of the Father of Lights DVD will be availableEXCLUSIVELY at these Tour stops. The DVDs will then be released for the general public in October.
WILL THERE BE A COST?
Because of the outrageous generosity of all who contributed to ourKickstarter Campaign the majority of the tour will be free for everyone! For the Tour stops with bands included, we may need to charge a small fee for everyone to help with the added (and often large) cost of bringing a major band out. We’ll keep you posted on that.
CAN I RESERVE A SEAT?
While seating will be offered as a first come, first served basis at each stop, if you want to ensure yourself a seat at a particular Father of Lights Tour stop, go to the Registration Page. We are expecting these to sell out, so if you know the stop you will be attending, it is best to reserve your tickets ahead of time!
