The Grinch-like Atheists Who Stole Christmas

I just caught wind of a story that is brewing in Santa Monica Ca. It seems that a group of atheists led by a man named Damon Vix, have stolen from all the fine believing citizen’s of Santa Monica, the nativity scenes that have graced the Santa Monica Palisades Park.  It seems that the Grinch-like atheists decided to change their tactics from court battles and peaceful protest, to one of crowding out the nativity scenes. 2 years ago there were 3 groups that asked the city for spots in Palisades Park for holiday displays, last year there were 13 groups asking for spots, 10 of whom were recruited by Damon Vix and the atheists to display such homages to things like the great flying spaghetti monster. Needless to say, many of the city residents did not appreciate these displays of cynicism and ridicule and expressed that displeasure with vandalism. Which brings us to this years story, because of the vandalism and the desire of the city not to get embroiled in a religious discrimination suit or have Palisades Park trashed this year like last, the city of Santa Monica has halted any Christmas displays, which was the original intention of the Grinch-like atheists.

So I thought a little comparison between Dr. Seuss’s “The Grinch that stole Christmas” and Damon Vix’s atheist buddies, was in order.

Why Atheists are like the Grinch

Every Believer Down In Santa Monica Like Christmas a lot…
But The Atheists, Who lived just North of  Santa Monica, Did NOT!
The Atheists hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season!
Now, please don’t ask why. No one quite knows the reason.
It could be that their head wasn’t screwed on quite right.
It could be, perhaps, that their shoes were too tight.
But I think that the most likely reason of all
May have been that their heart was two sizes too small.
But, Whatever the reason, their heart or their shoes,
They stood there on Christmas Eve, hating those who do,

Staring down from his cave with a sour, Grinchy frown
At the warm lighted windows below in their town.
For he knew every believer down in Santa Monica beneath
Was busy now, hanging a mistleoe wreath.
“And they’re hanging their stockings!” he snarled with a sneer.
“Tomorrow is Christmas! It’s practically here!”
Then he growled, with his grinch fingers nervously drumming,
“I MUST find a way to keep Christmas from coming!”

And the more the Grinch thought of the believers nativity display
The more the Grinch thought, “I must stop this, there must be a way!
“Why for almost 60 years I’ve put up with it now!
I MUST stop Christmas from coming! …But HOW?”

Well you get the idea.

In my opinion, the way to fight this and to remove the Grinch-like attitude from the atheists in Santa Monica is to do exactly what the Whos in Who-ville did. Take the nativity scenes and the Christmas caroling right to the doors of those that tried to ridicule the faith of the believers in Santa Monica. Take Christmas and all that it means, the grace, love and forgiveness to God to the 11 people who tried to steal Christmas from the majority of those that live in Santa Monica. Set up Christmas caroler’s every night for the month of December right in front of each of their houses. Take pick up trucks and flat bed trucks and set up nativity scenes and park in front of their houses. Either the Grinch will get his heart melted or………he won’t come out of his cave again.
