I just caught wind of a story that is brewing in Santa Monica Ca. It seems that a group of atheists led by a man named Damon Vix, have stolen from all the fine believing citizen's of Santa Monica, the nativity scenes that have graced the Santa Monica Palisades Park.  It seems that the Grinch-like atheists decided to change their tactics from court battles and peaceful protest, to one of crowding out the nativity scenes. 2 years ago there were 3 groups that asked the city for spots in Palisades Park for holiday displays, last year there were 13 groups asking for spots, 10 of whom were recruited by Damon Vix and the atheists to display such homages to things like the great flying spaghetti monster. Little did the Obama Administration figure that their idea of giving average citizens a voice in government would turn out like this when they started their "We the People" section of the White House website. Citizens of 49 states have started petitions requesting that the Obama Administration allow them to peaceably secede from the United States. I just caught wind of this this morning. A gunman has shot and killed a man leading a prayer meeting at Creflo Dollar's World Changers Church yesterday. According to initial reports, the gunman walked in dressed in a suit, and opened fire yesterday morning on a man who was leading a prayer meeting. Here is a video of the initial report. We have an epidemic in our country. It is an epidemic of ignorance. Jersey City New Jersey has became the latest city to show signs that they have caught this disease. If you are like me, you have heard more than once that the divorce rate among Christians is basically the same as non-Christians. Well a new study has came out that shows that this is not necessarily true. It all depends on how you define who is a Christian. If you lump together everyone who claims to be Christian, whether practicing or not, then they are right. There is no difference statistically between Christians and non-Christians. However if you dig a little deeper into the statistics then you find that those that are "practicing conservative Christians" the divorce rate is markedly lower. 3 Christian bloggers were sentenced yesterday to 12, 10, and 4 years in prison respectively. What was their crime you may ask? They were charged with spreading anti-government propaganda. They were the founding members of what they called the "Free Journalists Club" which was not officially recognized by the government. Nguyen Van Hai, Marie Ta Phong Tan, and Phan Thanh Hai along with 18 other people were reportedly taken into custody according to local bloggers. Dang Thi Kim Lieung, mother of Marie Ta Phong Tan, self-immolated and died on July 30 in protest over her daughter’s continued detention. It seems like the government was concerned about the political fallout of this trial and sentence that they felt the need to surround the courthouse with 400 security officials that kept the crowds away and confiscated camera's and cell phones. Our country was primarily founded by Protestants that were fleeing religious persecution and intolerance towards their faith. The Pilgrims, Quakers, Mennonites, Moravians, and Baptists all fled Europe for the promise to practice their faith in peace in America. Today we do not live in the same America. Grand Canyon University was the recipient of a 20 million dollar gift from Steve Green, owner of the hobby retail chain called Hobby Lobby. In a story I covered a couple of months ago, Steve Green made it public that he wanted to give D.L. Moody's Northfield Seminary in Northfield MA. away for free to a ministry that could prove they could maintain and use it according to D.L. Moody's original vision. Why Did Grand Canyon University Receive This Gift? Over 100 different organizations expressed interest in the Northfield campus. Denzel Washington has always been one of my favorite Hollywood actors. I was especially impressed with his role in the movie called "The book of Eli". (I do not recommend this movie for children.) What I did not realize was Denzel Washington's faith in Jesus. Recently Denzel and his wife Paulette was interviewed by Tracy Smith on CBS Sunday Morning. In that interview both he and his wife talk about their role that they played on the latest audio Bible called "The Bible Experience". Pastor Jack Schaap, the former Pastor of the Hammond Indiana First Baptist Church plead guilty yesterday to having sex with a minor and transporting a minor over state lines for the purpose of having sex with her. As I reported a few days ago, the Christian owned craft store Hobby Lobby has came under attack from Pro Abortion Activists because of their opposition to the federal mandate in Obamacare that requires businesses to provide what is commonly called the "morning after pill. This pill essentially prevents a fertilized egg to implant itself on the uterine wall thus aborting the spark of life. Although they have received support from Pro Life advocates, they are facing boycotts from these Pro Abortion groups. In a story I found on Christian News Network, a Pastor and five ministry team members were arrested Friday night Sept. 15th while preaching and passing out tracts on New Orlean's infamous Bourbon street. This street is where Mardi Gras and the Decadence festival are held. It is filled with bars and strip joints. What better place to reach hurting people with the gospel of Jesus? Americans United for the Separation of Church and State have been up to their same old tricks again but this time it is seeming to backfire in their faces. Earlier they threatened the Connellsville Pa school district with a lawsuit over a monument of the 10 commandments at the school. This monument was donated to the school in the 1950's and has stood there as a reminder to morality for over half a century. In a story I found on CBS Channel 2 in Pittsburgh the school district was not going to get into a legal battle at first until the community rose up in support of the monument.
