Bible Verses About Strength
Do you ever need Bible verses about strength in your life? I know I do! In fact it seems, I need scriptures for fortitude and courage quite often. I used to have 4 different posts on biblical strength but because of changes to the website and how it ranks I merged them all into one. So I compiled Bible verses about strength for daily reading and scripture memorization along with scriptures for strength during hard times, Bible prayers for strength and 15 Christian quotes about strength. It is my prayer that these Scripture quotes from different men of God will strengthen and encourage you in your walk with Jesus. Please feel free to print them out, pass them out to your friends and use them as status updates on Facebook to encourage others in the spiritual walk especially when they are going through hard times. I have not chosen perfect men and women to quote, but men who actually failed and rose back up to face their challenges and who learned how to obtain power from God. At the end of this post, I will share with you my tips on how to obtain vitality from God that I learned by going through the loss of my father, by dealing with the tragedy of divorce, and the 8 year test of my faith in returning to pastoral ministry. It was these Bible verses that got me through all of the trials I have had in life.

Here are some uplifting Scripture quotes from Moses for victory
#10 Exodus 15:22 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him— my father’s God, and I will exalt him!
There is strength that can be found when you praise and exalt the Lord.
#9 Joshua 1:9
9 This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
This is a great scripture to encourage you and give you hope because God is with you no matter what!
3 encouraging scriptures from King David showing your source of strength is from the Lord
#8 1 Chronicles 16:11
11 Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him.

A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?

A verse from the Prophet Isaiah to encourage you when you are weak
#5 Isaiah 40:29
29 He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
This scripture should give you comfort and hope as when you are feeling down and without any power of your own.
These verses from the Apostle Paul tie the source of spiritual vitality to grace.
#4 2 Corinthians 12:9
9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me
#3 Philippians 4:13
13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
#2 Ephesians 3:16
16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.
Strength comes from God. It is through your relationship with Jesus that you find the courage to carry on. That relationship is provided for by grace and not works. It is all about the grace of God giving you the power, not you finding a secret key to use.
My Favorite Bible Verse about God’s power comes from Jesus
#1 Acts 1:8
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
This is by far one of my favorite Scriptures on finding your source in God. It is the promise of God that if we will allow the Holy Spirit to come upon us and empower us, we will have dynamite power. The Greek word for power is dunamis, which we get our word dynamite from. It means explosive power. You too can have this explosive power in your life.
The first thing you need to do is Meet Jesus and make sure you have a personal relationship with Him. After that, then read these Bible verses daily and start asking God to give you His Holy Spirit and allow the Holy Spirit to empower you. He will give you the force to overcome!
Blessings!
