How great are His signs, And how mighty His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And His dominion is from generation to generation.
This morning as I was sitting and watching the sunrise the song by Chris Tomlin started to rumble in my spirit. “How great is our God.” I sensed the quiet voice of the Lord speaking to me concerning the issues that I was faced with. Where is your focus? Where are you looking for provision?
Pastoring a small church in rural Wyoming is no easy feat. Pastoring one that has lost 7 of it’s core families over the last two summers is impossible. They did not leave out of anger or dissatisfaction with the church or my ministry. They just moved away. It has placed us in a position where we can turn no other direction than to the Lord.
How Great Is Our God?
That is the question that we all have to ask at one time or another. Whether it is a financial problem, a physical ailment, or something to do with personal relationships. We end up having to ask ourselves at some point, “how great is our God?” Do we really believe that God is bigger than our problems or is He limited by our problems?
For me, I know the answer. He is bigger. I have seen Him move in miraculous ways time and time again. He has restored every aspect of my life. He has done the impossible. Just as Jesus said, “All things are possible to those who believe.”
So how great is our God? He is greater than any mountain that we can or cannot see. Do you believe it?
Meditation for August 31
Where is your focus? Is it on your problem or on your provider? Take a moment to just meditate on how great God really is. Let that perspective change how you are looking at life.
Prayer for August 31
Father, I have decided to look unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of my faith. It is in Him alone that you have provided all of my needs. Show me your greatness and change my perspective on life. In Jesus name. Amen
