As I reported a few days ago, the Christian owned craft store Hobby Lobby has came under attack from Pro Abortion Activists because of their opposition to the federal mandate in Obamacare that requires businesses to provide what is commonly called the “morning after pill. This pill essentially prevents a fertilized egg to implant itself on the uterine wall thus aborting the spark of life. Although they have received support from Pro Life advocates, they are facing boycotts from these Pro Abortion groups. So once again we need to rise up and support those that are standing up for religious liberties in this country.
Sources citing the Hobby Lobby Boycott
The Examiner reports that these groups are organizing a boycott and making crazy claims that Hobby Lobby wants to deny basic health care and if you can believe it, “cancer treatments” to it’s employees. Once again we see these groups engaging in dishonest rhetoric rather than addressing the issues.
According to the Examiner these groups are claiming that Hobby Lobby is playing God. They say that Hobby Lobby has not right to deny certain procedures or medications to their employees that are “legal” just because it goes against the belief system of the owners. Hmmm, what is the definition of an “owner” now days?
Hobby Lobby has been getting flamed by these groups on their Facebook Page in the comments sections of the posts they make. These misinformed people seem to forget that people have a choice whether or not to accept a job based on health care coverage. It is one more example of people thinking they are “entitled” to something when we supposedly live in a free market society. If murdering babies is one of the things a person wants in their health care coverage, then they can find a despicable company that provides it. The federal government does not have the right to violate a person or company’s right to practice their religious beliefs as they seem fit.
Another ding dong posted a flaming picture of the Hobby Lobby Logo with a very unimaginative red circle with a line through it on Flickr. If you want to read the ignorance of some people you should read the comments. The so called creative genius that made this picture wrote this.
Even if you’re pro-life this kind of action stinks to high heaven! If things like this can be allowed then what’s next?! They could do such things as not cover cancer treatment because it’s “playing God”. Hobby Lobby has NO right to deny certain procedures or medications that are LEGAL to their employees based on their own beliefs. Specifically denying a women the morning after pill could potentially force a rape victim to have her rapists child. I find this whole thing to be revolting and I cannot and will not support this company anymore.
Talk about someone who doesn’t get it!
Rise up and support Hobby Lobby.
I am telling you people, if you allow the federal government to dictate to business what they can or cannot do in regards to living out their religious beliefs, then the citizenry will be next. It is time we stopped acting like our religious liberties have no meaning or value and put a stop to government violation and encroachment on our constitutional rights. This is an obvious case of government making a law prohibiting the free exercise of religion. I think it is time for a support Hobby Lobby day!

Heat I can take. I can take hate too, but is that really what you want to preach? Neither you or I should have to tolerate hate. Is a world full of hatred and intolerance what you really want? It certainly sounds like that’s what you’re condoning. I may not care for your ideas on this matter much, but I certainly wouldn’t condone anyone making threats to you, let alone encourage it. I actually commented because I thought that there was a possibility for political commentary and debate without someone hating the other. You know, maybe set an example of love and tolerance even if we strongly disagree with each other. I thought maybe you would actually be the one who would give your side to the the questions I posed and have a discussion. I think that you’ve likely had some people be very rude to you and you’re taking it out on me by lumping me into a category that I think if you really looked, I don’t fit into. I won’t be calling you any names or belittle your opinions for the sake of provoking you. Much of my family is Christian, I was raised in a Christian home and have no stereotypes of Christian’s. Do I think some of them act the opposite of Christian? You betcha, but not all, not even most. I wasn’t expecting you to apologize on behalf of the people who acted less than Christian toward me, but I thought, or hoped rather that maybe you would preach some of that Love Thy Neighbor stuff I’ve read about.
I wish you well, Pastor Duke. I appreciate you posting my comment even though you don’t care for me much. That’s more than many will do.
Goodnight.
I have made no threats. I have not hated you. I have confronted you and your statements that you published. You comment was illogical. Is that better? It still shows you were being a ding dong. A person who is not thinking. Why would a group of people who value life at conception, want to withhold life saving treatment at any age? I have no ill will against you personally. I just absolutely disagree with your statement and stereotype of saying that Christians would be “playing God” next. If you were raised in a “Christian home” then you know that Jehovah’s witnesses are considered a cult and not part of Evangelical Christianity. So again your statement shows either your ignorance or your choice to use examples that are not valid. If you were “loving your neighbor” then you would NOT be calling for a boycott of Hobby Lobby. Practice what you preach my friend.
I wish you well also. Like I said. Confronting your statements is not hate.
Name calling doesn’t really suit a pastor. I’m the “ding dong” you’re referring to. I guess you’re one of the ones I can thank for sending people over to my personal page to harass and threaten me for my beliefs. I really wish you’d read everything I wrote. I was not at all attacking your religion and I truly apologize to the people who thought that was what I was doing. I believe in your right to express your religious beliefs and I stand up for that right as well. I actually believe that people have the right to their beliefs even if I personally disagree with them. My point, as you clearly missed was not one of Christian intolerance it was that this opens the door to a wide range of problems. What about Jehovah’s Witnesses who don’t believe in transfusions or transplants? Could you afford a transplant if you worked for a company owned by someone of that religion and they decided they wouldn’t cover it based on their religious beliefs? I know that I can’t and many other American’s couldn’t either. Also, how would you feel if non-Christian companies claimed to be Christian so as not to cover certain health care treatments or medications? If you’d read what I wrote I most certainly NEVER said that Hobby Lobby was trying to deny cancer treatment. I’m not sure if you were referring to me in that statement because I used cancer treatment as an example to make my point. I could have used a better example, but it’s the one I used. Admittedly, I could have used some better tact in how I worded some things. I was under brutal attack and I’m still being attacked. You don’t even want to know some of the horrible things people who claimed to be Christian were saying to me and about my family in anonymous messages. For the record, I don’t think I’m entitled to anything but my opinion. I pay into health care as do many American’s. How about practicing a little tolerance for people who don’t feel the same way that you do? It’s what a good leader would do. A good leader leads by example. I’m not much familiar with you so I don’t know if you intentionally meant to send people to my page to harass and threaten me, but if that was your intent you can sleep well knowing it worked.
Glad I got your attention. If you understood our religion you would understand that there is a respect for all life. From conception to death so your comments were assinine. You were being a ding dong. You put the commentary up, either retract it or quit whining. I live by what I say every day. Welcome to political commentary. So I suggest you issue an apology for your comments if you are tired of the heat. Christians are done letting this type of thing go and the stereotypes you try to pin us with.
