God’s Promises in the Bible

by Duke | Posted on Thursday, December 1st, 2011

god's promises in the bibleThe Bible is full of promises to us as believers. In fact God’s promises in the Bible according to 2 Cor 1:20 are yes and amen. Many times we fail to look to heaven for our answers in life because we are not aware that the Bible has a promise from God concerning our situation. I have decided to make a list of God’s promises in the Bible to help you be more aware of what God has promised towards all of you who believe. I hope that this list of God’s promises in the Bible stir your faith to look to heaven where our help truly comes from.

God’s Promises in the Bible

This list is not an exhaustive list, but just the highlights. I will share with you a great link at the end of this post that will show you God’s promises in the Bible to us from every book in the Bible. I found it quite interesting and enlightening. Remember just as Abraham had to believe in the promise of God for a son before he saw the results of that promise, so we have to believe the promises of God many times before we see the results. So these promises are not a quick fix to a short term problem but a journey of discovery finding out that God is truly faithful to His people.

God’s promise not to lie to you or change His mind on you.

Numbers 23:19
New Living Translation (NLT)

Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

God’s promise that if you search for Him you will find Him.

7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

New Living Translation (NLT)
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.

God’s promises in the Bible are numerous and there is no way I could have listed them all in a single blog post. I hope that these promises from the Bible have encouraged and strengthened you and have reminded you to look first to God for all of your needs. I know this one thing above all else. God has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us and that He will stick closer than a brother. Just call upon Him and He will be there for you. If you have not started your personal relationship with Jesus then take a moment to go to my Meet Jesus page and do so. Then all the promises you have read here will be given to you as well.  If you would like to find more promises from God then check out this great post at Bible.org on God’s promises in the Bible from every book in the Bible.

Yes! I heard that the Bible has 3000 promises….and God said that His word will not go void and it would complete what it was sent out to do, it’s a two edged sword, also, it is Living Word. God spoke in the world. Great article!

Thanks Rosemary. It would be kind of tough to post all 3000 promises. LOL It would be a book! Hey that is an idea! Oh wait! A book listing all of God's promises has already been made!
