The Bible is full of promises to us as believers. In fact God’s promises in the Bible according to 2 Cor 1:20 are yes and amen. Many times we fail to look to heaven for our answers in life because we are not aware that the Bible has a promise from God concerning our situation. I have decided to make a list of God’s promises in the Bible to help you be more aware of what God has promised towards all of you who believe. I hope that this list of God’s promises in the Bible stir your faith to look to heaven where our help truly comes from.
God’s Promises in the Bible
This list is not an exhaustive list, but just the highlights. I will share with you a great link at the end of this post that will show you God’s promises in the scriptures to us from every book in the Bible. I found it quite interesting and enlightening. Remember just as Abraham had to believe in the promise of God for a son before he saw the results of that promise, so we have to believe the promises of God many times before we see the results. So these promises are not a quick fix to a short term problem but a journey of discovery finding out that God is truly faithful to His people.
God’s promises in the Old Testament.
God’s promise to bless Abraham and those that bless the descendants of Abraham.
Genesis 12:2-3 2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. 3 I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”
God’s promise to break the bonds of slavery.
Leviticus 26:12-13 12 I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people. 13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high.
God’s promise not to lie to you or change His mind on you.

God’s promise of fruitfulness and prosperity
Psalm 1:1-3 1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2 But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.
