Emotional Video Shows Christian Group Reaching Out To Gays

Today as I started out my morning praying on which stories to bring to your attention, my heart was drawn once again to the same sex controversy that I never imagined I would be a voice in. I have wanted to do a story that would spotlight the heart of God in this matter and would do so in a manner that would bring glory and honor to Jesus and present the issue with both a biblical base and with biblical action. So many times the two seem separated. Either people present the truth without acting biblically or they act biblically but do not present the truth. So when I opened up my email this morning and had this story given to me I had to post it.

There is an Christian organization called Truelife.org that has a ministry of reaching out to gays and lesbians in a very balanced and loving approach. The founder of the ministry, Jessie Connors was asked to speak at the Family Research Council’s Watchmen on the Wall Pastors Briefing in Washington DC. There is a clip of a very emotional video that is starting to go viral that expresses his heart of compassion towards reaching those trapped in same sex temptations. Some people have found it hard to follow him in this video but that is because he is referring to another video that I will share a link with you later. So take a look at this video and I will share more afterwards.

The two things that Jesse got emotional about.

Jesse got emotional because the man who had left the gay lifestyle had died. He died of AIDS. He was crying because his friend had gone on to be with Jesus but at the same time he was so glad that he was now in heaven. The young man in the video that Jesse was sharing was named Jonathan Ervin. I would have loved to have shared the video of Jonathan in it’s entirety here but truelife.org does not have it’s videos set up to share or embed on other websites. So here is the link to trulife.org’s video entitled Does God Love Gay People? You really need to watch this video. It is the best video I have ever seen concerning the subject of homosexuality and same sex marriage.

The other reason that Jesse got emotional is the fact that last year trulife.org had 50 churches involved with them seeking to help those trapped in homosexuality. Today they have 623. I would get emotional about this as well! That is something to cry tears of joy for!

So please take the 15 minutes to go and watch the video Does God Love Gay People? at truelife.org and then come back and tell me if this is not the best video out there that can be used to minister and touch those trapped in the gay lifestyle. Leave me a comment and let’s support people who are speaking the truth in love and not only taking the biblical stand on gay marriage but also living the biblical mandate to love and reach those involved.

Blessings!

Thank you Duke, for being a well reasoned voice. We need balance in a time of generational change that most of the Church is failing to recognize. To be the voice, hands, and heart of Jesus to our society we need to present His Word with the same love and compassion that He had for the lost. Yet, not to compromise on it’s truth, validity, and its pronouncements of the end results of sin. There is far too many members who attend Churches who would rather choose the emotional answer to someone’s sin, than to offer real hope and freedom. Instead, by denying the Lord’s own words, and commands they trash what He has so graciously offered.
