Bible verses about heaven remind us that this world is not our home. There has been much speculation about the existence of the afterlife, what heaven will be like, and what it takes to get to heaven. I hope that these Bible verses about heaven will shed some light on the subject and that you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that heaven is real, that Jesus has prepared a place for you in heaven and that you will have the blessed assurance that your name is on the list of those that will be living there for all eternity.

Verses about heaven being God’s home.
Isaiah 66:1
1 This is what the Lord says:
“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.
Could you build me a temple as good as that?
Could you build me such a resting place?
1 Kings 8:27
27 “But will God really live on earth? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built!
Psalm 14:2
2 The Lord looks down from heaven on the entire human race;
he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God.
Psalm 123:1
A song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem.
1 I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven
Psalm 136:26
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven. His faithful love endures forever.
Scriptures about heaven being the true home for believers.
Revelation 21:3-4
3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.[a] 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
Revelation 21:23-25
23 And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light. 24 The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory. 25 Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there.
Revelation 22:1-5
1 Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations.
3 No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. 4 And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. 5 And there will be no night there—no need for lamps or sun—for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.
John 14:1-3
Jesus, the Way to the Father
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.
2 Timothy 4:6-8
Paul’s Valedictory
6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
Bible passages concerning how to get to heaven.
Revelation 21:27
27 Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
Revelation 20:15
15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
John 14:1-6
Jesus, the Way to the Father
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home.[a] If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?[b] 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
Revelation 3:20-21
20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. 21 Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.
Contrary to what many people say, the Bible is quite clear about the fact that the only way to get to heaven is to go through Jesus. There are not many paths to heaven. Jesus said that no one can come to the Father except through Him. Either Jesus was a liar, or all of those that claim there are many ways to heaven are wrong. Personally, I am going to trust Jesus. So if you have never started a personal relationship with Jesus, now is the time to do so. You too can have your name written in the Lamb’s (Jesus’) book of life. All it takes is asking for that relationship. I would encourage you to go the page I have that explains how to meet Jesus and begin that personal relationship with Him.
