These Bible verses about faith are some of my all time favorites. Having spent 32 years walking with Jesus, I have learned at least a couple of things about faith. Faith is one of the most important things a believer needs to have. So sit back, have a cup of coffee, and just let the Lord speak to you through these Bible verses about faith.
My favorite Bible verses about faith.
Mark 11:22-24“
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Bible Verses always teach to have faith in God not faith itself.
Jesus tells us to have faith in God. That is our first priority. Having faith in faith itself is fruitless. You have to have faith in someone, not just something. When we have faith in God, then we can overcome the mountains in our life. This bible verse on faith is an awesome example of what can be done when we have faith in the right person.

Hebrews 11:1“1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
This Bible verse shows us that faith, is what makes things that are not seen, become seen. When we have faith, we are believing that God is going to do something that has not already happened. Faith is a powerful force in the life of the believer. When you have faith, you can overcome anything.
The Bible Verse about faith to be saved.
Eph 2:8“8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,”
This is by far one of the most important Bible verses about faith in the Bible. It tells us how to receive salvation from God. That means, how to have a personal relationship with Jesus, and how to be saved from the penalty of our sin. It also shows in this verse that faith actually comes from God, it is not something that we work up inside ourselves..
The Bible verses about faith to know your past is forgiven.
Romans 5:1“1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”
Justification means just as if it didn’t happen. This Bible verse about faith shows us that we have a standing before God as if whatever we have done wrong in our life never happened because of faith. This gives us great peace that God is not holding a grudge or is thinking back on how many times we have failed.
Romans 10:17“17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
This Bible verse about faith shows us the process of how faith comes and is built in our life. The first thing we have to do is hear. Hear what? The voice of God in our hearts. Remember Jesus said to have faith in God. The second part tells us how to have hearing, and that is by the word of God. Now since the early church and the people that Paul was speaking to did not have easy access to the scriptures since there was no mass printing of Bibles, the term “word of God” is not talking about the Bible, but about Jesus. The apostle John called Him the word made flesh in the first chapter of his gospel.
The Bible verses about faith being started and completed by Jesus
Hebrews 12:2“2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
This Bible verse on faith shows us that Jesus is the one who started our faith, and the one who is completing the novel of our faith. He is the one that does the work.
James 2:17“17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
This scripture verse about faith is pretty plain. It tells us that if we have faith, then we will put action to that faith. That real faith motivates us to do something about what we believe.
Matthew 17:20“20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Again in these Bible verses about faith, Jesus is saying that if we have faith, that we can do anything. That with our faith in God, all things are possible. This Bible verse on faith is especially comforting and encouraging to those who have huge obstacles in their life that have to be overcome. With faith you can overcome them!
1 John 5:4“4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith”
This Bible verse on faith talks of the fact that our faith is what overcomes the world. If you are a born again believer in Jesus Christ, you will overcome the world. You will have victory. That victory comes by you using your faith.
The Bible verse about Faith being something that never goes away.
1 Corinthians 13:13“13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
In this Bible verse about faith, although faith is not the greatest, it is one of 3 things that never change nor will ever go away. If you are looking for something stable to base your life on, then faith is one of the things you want in your life.
